May 2013 Luncheon Meeting Friday, May 24, 2013Click here for online RSVP and payments Meeting Topic The FCC’s New Rules and Proposals on RF Safety presented by Ed Mantiply, Martin Doczkat, and Robert Weller FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology, Technical Analysis Branch On March 27, 2013, the FCC advanced its review of its radiofrequency (RF) safety rules and policies. It divided this process into three parts: a Report and Order and a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in ET Docket No. 03-137, and a Notice of Inquiry in a new docket, ET Docket No. 13-84. The Order concludes several technical and semantic issues initiated in 2003 that revise and update its regulations implementing NEPA. The Further Notice proposes to further update and revise its procedures beyond the 2003 proposals. In the Inquiry the FCC requests comment to determine whether its RF exposure limits and policies need to be reassessed. This presentation will summarize all three documents.
