The Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCCE) held its 78th Annual Meeting in Portland, Maine, bringing together members for association business, technical presentations, committee updates, and fellowship.

Following the Annual Meeting, the incoming Board of Directors elected officers for the coming year: President Matt Butcher, Vice-President Jim Leifer, Secretary John George, and Treasurer Bob Weller.

The business meeting included reports from the association’s officers and committee chairs. AFCCE welcomed John Collinson, John George, Mark Heller as new members of the board of directors and welcomed Harvey Arnold, Stephen Lockwood, and Stephen Crowley as returning board members. The association also thanked Stephen Pumple, Benjamin Dawson, and Anne Crump for their dedicated service on the board.

AFCCE’s Scholarship Fund awarded $16,000 in scholarships for the Fall 2026 semester to 11 outstanding students who have expressed an intention to pursue careers in telecommunications engineering.

Members enjoyed an informative factory tour and technical presentations at Dielectric, arranged by members Jay Martin and Keith Pelletier.  Thanks to docent and AFCCE member Jim Stenberg, members also toured Portland’s historic Tate House Museum.

During the meeting, the board approved maintaining the current membership fee structure for 2027 and agreed to sponsor the IEEE Broadcast Forum, scheduled for October 27–28 in Washington, D.C. Members also discussed holding fall social and scholarship fundraiser in conjunction with the forum.

AFCCE looks forward to another active year of meetings, technical presentations, professional development, and fellowship. Members and prospective members interested in presenting at an upcoming meeting are encouraged to contact the Board.
